Summer Bucket List
Today is the official first day of summer. Many people write lists about all of the things that they want to do or places they want to visit and as a list gal, I totally get it. We want to write down all of things that we want to do and accomplish over the next 2 months but what if we just stopped, listened to our heart, and lived each day in the flow.
Ekkk...that is the first word that comes to my mind. Throw caution to the wind and just let things happen (yikes). But what if we don't get to visit that beach, or eat that food, or make that Pinterest project. Scary people, I know!
But what if you wake up each morning with no agenda. You are able to pull open the curtains and just breathe in that warm summer air. What if instead of rushing breakfast so you can get to that amusement park early, you make pancakes together and eat them on the porch. And you eat them slowly and you taste the fresh strawberries you picked the other day and you get to look into the eyes of your child or loved one who is enjoying them. That's bliss right there for ya! And guess what? The amusement park will be there and yes, you might have to wait a little longer in line but you can do so in the flow.
So this summer, I urge you to listen to your heart and soak up all of the deliciousness that surrounds us. Catch those sunsets, enjoy dinner from the grill, swim until your fingers are pruny, and yes do some of those things on your "bucket list". But stop to check in every now and then, get quiet within, stay present, and enjoy the moments as they come.
